“Even in times of trauma, we try to maintain a sense of normality until we no longer can. That, my friends, is called surviving. Not healing. We never become whole again ... we are survivors. If you are here today... you are a survivor. But those of us who have made it thru hell and are still standing? We bare a different name: warriors.” -- Lori Goodwin (author & veteran)

Jesse Meredith was an Indiana guardsman at the time of his untimely death. Jesse suffered from PTSD. On April 29, 2014, Jesse took his life. He left behind a beautiful young family.

His wife, Stephany, was unable to deploy to Iraq with Jesse, as she had just learned she was pregnant with their second child. Stephany is a proud veteran and would like to share her message of hope. She will be a keynote speaker at the race event.

Four NFP organizations -- Women in Bloom, Inc., Bomber Girls LRC, Inc. (Valparaiso Chapter), USA Cares (Indiana Chapter), and Patriot Packs Training Service Dogs, Inc., brought their passion for this cause together to raise awareness and help our families and our veterans via needed services and programs.

This first, what he hope to be an annual 5K walk/run event and 50-mile motorcyle run, is a family event and will include activities for all ages to include face painting, a balloon artist, and a visit by a few of the Indianapolis Colts' Cheerleaders, as well as associate veteran's organizations sharing their information and message.

The race is a walker/runner friendly off-road course. The event kicks off at 9:00 AM with a kiddie-friendly race to be followed by the 5K race at 9:30 AM. Prizes will be awarded for top finishers in age category and all runners will receive a dog tag. First 250 participants registered will receive a t-shirt.

An optional Post-Race BBQ and Party will follow immediately after the race. The cost of the BBQ Post-Party is $10 PP and tickets are available for purchase at the race registration site.

We are making a weekend out of this event and are hosting a fundraiser/pasta dinner the night before (4.28) at the Porter VFW, 1290 Wagner Road
, Porter Indiana. Tickets are available for purchase via the race registration site at the time of race registration or for non-participants, please click here.

This is an ACYE spaghetti dinner. Ticket prices are $10 per adult | $3 per child 12 and under. The dinner is from 5-8 and race packets can be picked up during the same timeframe.

We encourage corporate teams and family teams. This event is set at the beautiful Sunset Hill Park in Northwest Indiana. Mark your calendars for April 29, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM, as this is sure to become a fun-filled family event to support our veterans past, present, and future.

What Our Clients Are Saying

They are a blessing and absolutely amazing! -- JaLeesa
Very giving organization has helped me to continue the journey of tackling my masters degree. In my family I was the first in the whole entire family counting aunts, cousins and all to have received a bachelor's degree that I got in August of this year. Once I get my masters I'll be the first one for that again within my whole entire family.

My mother had me at the young age of 14 and I saw the struggles we had to go through and I knew I didn't want that for my children. I wanted better as all parents want better for their kids then what they had had. What Women in Bloom has done for me has helped tremendously with that and I am beyond thankful.

I am very blessed. Thank you so so much!! I can't wait to tackle that masters! I know I got this!
