BOURBON TASTING + BBQ
Held JUNE 25, 2022 | VFW 2511, Porter, IN

This was our first Bourbon Tasting + BBQ hosted by Women in Bloom to support our resource-challenged, female veterans and young female careerists. Event was a solid three hours of fun including bringing awareness to PTSD during PTSD Awareness Month.

DJ Steve Zana, also a radio personality on Indiana 105, was in charge of the music. Biggie's BBQ smoked up some fantastic food and fixings including smoked half-chicken, smoked ribs, and smoked potatoes. Each attendee received a commemorative bourbon glass with their purchase of a full-priced ticket.

The bourbon tasting included Indiana based bourbons + fun giveaways and silent auction items.

Women in Bloom provides scholarships and programming for our clientele, as well as clothing and other resources. We successfully raised $5,000 in ticket purchases, silent auction items and attendee ticket sales.

Sponsorships were generously provided by Urschel's, VNA Hospice NWI, Snap-On Tools, Stephanie Lucas, Brenda Coleman, VFW 2511, and Aida's Kitchen.

What Our Clients Are Saying

They are a blessing and absolutely amazing! -- JaLeesa
Very giving organization has helped me to continue the journey of tackling my masters degree. In my family I was the first in the whole entire family counting aunts, cousins and all to have received a bachelor's degree that I got in August of this year. Once I get my masters I'll be the first one for that again within my whole entire family.

My mother had me at the young age of 14 and I saw the struggles we had to go through and I knew I didn't want that for my children. I wanted better as all parents want better for their kids then what they had had. What Women in Bloom has done for me has helped tremendously with that and I am beyond thankful.

I am very blessed. Thank you so so much!! I can't wait to tackle that masters! I know I got this!
