Bloom in Place...
Women in Bloom seeks to help students in a variety of ways as they prepare for careers in business.
WIB has volunteered at the Crown Point High School mentoring young female athletes and awarded scholarships to three young women so that they could attend the Women’s Wisdom Forum's educational seminar for businesswomen held in Valparaiso, Indiana. Additionally, WIB provided scholarships totaling $7,000.00 to students at Indiana Wesleyan, Valparaiso University, New Prairie High School, and Valparaiso High School during the 2016-2019 academic years. We have also participated in the Crossroads Chamber Reality Store at a local middle school in Merrillville, Indiana, financially supported the Amanda Bach Forum, co-hosted an Hour of Coding with local high school and college female students, and sponsored attendance at leadership conferences. Women in Bloom plans to continue to offer educational opportunities to young careerists and also continues to look for other ways to serve women in this demographic. |
- Very giving organization has helped me to continue the journey of tackling my masters degree. In my family I was the first in the whole entire family counting aunts, cousins and all to have received a bachelor's degree that I got in August of this year (2016).
Once I get my masters I'll be the first one for that again within my whole entire family. My mother had me at the young age of 14 and I saw the struggles we had to go through and I knew I didn't want that for my children. I wanted better as all parents want better for their kids then what they had had. What women in bloom has done for me has helped tremendously with that and I am beyond thankful. I am very blessed. Thank you so so much!! I can't wait to tackle that masters! I know I got this!
